VIRGINIA DALITIWAN RESORT

We started the day of December 20, 2010 with a refreshing morning in the ancestral house of our colleague in Angels Institute of Learning in the name of Johannes Paulus Esquinas or Teacher Jopo as he is fondly called in Barangay Villa Nogales, Municipality of Majayjay, Laguna. The van we used is owned by the family of Jopo and driven by his handsome brother, Neil Adrin or Allen with co-pilot Archie Jamito. His beauteous sweetheart, Beth Capio was also with us. The rest of the group were teachers of Angels Institute of Learning, namely: Joy Timbol; Janna Del Fonso; Leo Abriol; Marlyn Palce with son, Arbie; Ghie Pereyra; Ella Krizia; Emlou Vargas and me. From the ancestral house of Teacher Jopo, we had a 30-minute drive going to Virginia Dalitiwan Resort. Originally, we wanted to have our swim in Majayjay Falls (or Imelda Falls) which another 20 minutes drive and 30 minutes trek away but since it was muddy to trek and the water was so cold, we decided to have our grand time in Dalitiwan which is only along the highway. Entrance was P70 per person and the cottage is P500. We stayed here from 8:12 A.M. to 1:32 P.M. and moved to the next destination.

HOW TO GO THERE

1. Take a bus from either Cubao (HM Transport) or Buendia LRT (DLTB) with a sign board of Sta. Cruz (Laguna) for fare of P180. with a travel time of 3 – 4 hours but will be shorter if early in the morning.

2. From Sta. Cruz drop-off area, take a tricycle to the public market but only up to the jeepney terminal of Majayjay for a fare of P28. The terminal is just near the old church of Saint Bartholomew.

3. Remind the driver on the terminal to drop you off at the Virginia Dalitiwan Resort which is just along the national highway. I really do not know the fare rate because we were on a chartered van. But more or less it will not be more than P30.
